{"id":13759,"date":"2012-10-01T00:51:52","date_gmt":"2012-10-01T05:51:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=13759"},"modified":"2012-09-28T21:16:10","modified_gmt":"2012-09-29T02:16:10","slug":"fresh-pumpkin-pie-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2012\/10\/fresh-pumpkin-pie-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresh Pumpkin Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_13760\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13760\" style=\"width: 289px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?attachment_id=13760\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-13760\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-13760\" title=\"pumpkin pie\" src=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/pumpkin-pie-289x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"289\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/pumpkin-pie-289x300.jpg 289w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/pumpkin-pie.jpg 594w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 289px) 100vw, 289px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13760\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pumpkin Pie<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>What to do with the inside of the pumpkin after you have carved it?<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">INGREDIENTS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4 Cups Smashed, Packed &amp; Drained Cooked Pumpkin<\/p>\n<p>2 Cans Carnation\u00ae Evaporated Milk<\/p>\n<p>2\u20149 inch Single Pie Shells<\/p>\n<p>1\u00bd Cups Sugar<\/p>\n<p>1 Teaspoon Salt<\/p>\n<p>2 Teaspoons Cinnamon<\/p>\n<p>1 Teaspoon Ginger<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd Teaspoon Ground Cloves<\/p>\n<p>4 Large Eggs<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><!--more-->\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">DIRECTIONS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After cleaning your pumpkin you can use the pumpkin inside immediately.\u00a0 On the top of your stove take the insides and cut up place into pot, cover with water and cook until tender.<\/p>\n<p>The pumpkin seeds can be broiled in the oven on a cookie sheet until golden brown, sprinkle with salt.\u00a0 Cool, tasty and nutritious snack for the kids.\u00a0 Split open before eating like a sunflower seed.<\/p>\n<p>In a mixing bowl; mix sugar, salt, cinnamon, Ginger, and cloves.<\/p>\n<p>In a large bowl whisk the eggs.<\/p>\n<p>Pour in the spice mixture, pumpkin, and milk.\u00a0 Blend well.<\/p>\n<p>Divide into the two pie shells evenly.<\/p>\n<p>Bake at 350\u00b0 40-45 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Cool on a rack for 2 hours prior to serving.<\/p>\n<p>Serve with Whip Cream Dollops.<\/p>\n<p>For a festive look use small cookie cutters.\u00a0 To decorate the tops, using leafs, or turkey shape designs.\u00a0 Pies can be stored in the freezer when well wrapped. I let the pies cool down then cover with a plastic wrap and slide into a large zip loc type freezer bag.\u00a0 Set on the freezer shelf until frozen solid.\u00a0 After a day or two, you will be able to stack them to save room in your freezer.\u00a0\u00a0 When ready to use remove from freezer; thaw; remove wrapping and then place in an oven at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.\u00a0 It will taste as fresh as the day you first made them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Picture of Pumpkins &#8211; Courtesy of Amber Wolf my niece.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What to do with the inside of the pumpkin after you have carved it?
