However, keeping your family safe during a disaster is a top priority. Developing a family disaster plan is the best way to ensure that your family is prepared and protected before a natural disaster strikes. Preparation could make the difference between life and death.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Following are some tips to help you develop your plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Discuss the type of hazards that could affect your family. Know your home&#8217;s vulnerability to storm surge, flooding and wind.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Locate a safe room or the safest areas in your home for each hazard.
