Lehigh Senior High\u2019s nomination \u201cBack on Track\u201d created a series of informational sessions offered at various times to accommodate parent schedules that informed families of an innovative alternative program for credit retrieval for ninth- and 10th-grade students. With the support of teachers, staff, tutors and parents, the project\u2019s mission was to not only increase student achievement but also improve parent involvement.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Principal Michelle Freeman will accept the award on Lehigh Senior High\u2019s behalf at the Florida PTA\u2019s Annual Leadership Conference, scheduled for Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor. In addition, the \u201cBack on Track\u201d program, along with many other outstanding Florida school district practices, will appear in\u00a0Sparkplugs,\u00a0the Florida DOE\u2019s annual publication of exemplary family involvement practices that recruit, train and recognize parents and families.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Together with the Florida PTA and State Farm Insurance, the Florida DOE annually recognizes exceptional school practices that increase family involvement in schools.
