Located behind buildings off Joel Blvd, there lies Lee County’s only know sinkhole and the possibility of important clues to life dating back to 14.000 BC. This 420 foot long, 208 feet deep lake and surrounding land was nominated for Lee County’s Conservation 20/20 program, which uses tax money to buy and conserve environmentally sensitive land. This means Lehigh Acres would receive State, National, and International recognition. The archaeological aspects of this lake could product tourism and much needed revenue to Lehigh Acres. Unfortunately, receiving funds has not been a simple task. The next two meeting are scheduled 3:00 p.m. July 3 and 5:30 p.m. July 12 both meeting will at 1500 Monroe Street Ft. Myers
