Governor Rick Scott made an appearance at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Friday to hold a ceremonial bill signing of crime victim’s legislation.
The four bills signed are aimed at protecting victims of crimes like stalking, sexual abuse and domestic violence.
Governor Rick Scott said “This is an exciting day for the state of Florida, these bills give law enforcement the tools they to need to be tough on crime.”
“Florida leads the nation in caring about victim’s rights and making sure we keep the crime rate low, but you know there will be a new issue,” Scott said. “We are doing the right things today.”

The bills signed were:
– HB1355 Protection of Vulnerable Persons
– HB1099 Stalking
– HB1193 Public Records/Victims of Violence
– HB 437 Protection of Minors
