Lee County Sheriff Candidate Tim Fisher, endorsed by Lee County Deputies and Sergeants

Tim Fisher Candidate for Lee County Sheriff

Tim Fisher formally received the endorsement of the recently formed Sheriff’s Office Unions voted in by the majority of Deputies and Sergeants for the first time in the 125 year history of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. “It is the highest honor to have received the endorsement of my peers. We all supported the current Sheriff when he first ran in 2004. Mike Scott was very proud back then to have the support of the Deputies and law enforcement unions accepting tens of thousands of dollars to support his campaign. I too am very proud to have the support of the Deputies and I will not fail where Mike Scott has as we seek to bring the change to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office so desperately needed’, Fisher said.

“If I am elected to serve as Sheriff, the office will get back to the basics of law enforcement by putting boots on the street and addressing the rise of crime in Lee County. Overall crime was up nearly 5% in 2011, with murder up 29% and burglary/thefts up nearly 10%. The size of the departments’ administrative bureaucracy has swelled to 38% of all employees at the Sheriff’s Office with the Sheriff spending nearly a half a million more dollars on his current administration than when he took office”, stated Fisher. “It is the employees and citizens of Lee County who suffer while the current Sheriff uses hundreds of thousands of tax payer’s dollars for Public Service Announcements which have little to no impact on crime. It is no coincidence that Sheriff Scott appears on television with increasing frequency in an election year”, Fisher added.

Tim Fisher is a 17 year decorated veteran of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Tim’s law enforcement experience includes service as a Deputy Sheriff serving as a SWAT sniper, district detective, major crimes detective and internal affairs Sergeant. Tim is a supervisor in the School Resource Officer Unit safeguarding our most precious of resources, our children. Tim has been faithfully married to his wife Robin for over 21 years with two children of his own. Tim holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and many advanced law enforcement training certifications.

  1. I think with all the red-light running, I think a campaign promise to stop red-light runners would be whole-heartedly endorsed by most citizens of Lee County. Until we have such a commitment by a sheriff’s candidate, there is nothing to set Fisher apart from the present do-nothing sheriff. STOP THE PEOPLE WHO DELIBERATELY RUN RED LIGHTS. I’VE SEEN PEOPLE DO IT IN FRONT OF SHERIFF’S OFFICERS AND THEY DO NOTHING. PLEASE DO SOMETHING.
