The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in identifying a person of interest in Lehigh Acres robbery.
On Wednesday April 18, 2012, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery that occurred in the parking lot the China King restaurant at 1468 Lee Boulevard, Lehigh Acres. Due to the nature of the incident detectives with our Major Crimes Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
The victims stated they were waiting in the parking lot while the business was closed for the night. A black male approach one of the victims and pointed a handgun at her and demanded keys. The female motioned to the suspect that she did not have the keys and pointed to male locking the restaurant doors. The black male then approached the male victim where a struggle ensued and the male victim was struck in the head with the hand gun.
Witnesses called 911.
The black male suspect saw the patrol cars responding to the scene and took off running toward East Pointe Drive.
Witnesses observed a black male walking at a fast pace towards a red Ford Taurus. The black male was carrying a black shirt and wearing a white tank top and dark pants. The black male got into the rear driver side and the vehicle drove off at a high rate of speed west bound on 1st Street West.
Detectives were able to recover still pictures and video of the suspect.
