R. Del Boggess, 72, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 22, 2012. He was born in Ft. Ogden, Fla., and moved to Lehigh Acres in 1970. He had been a resident of Ocala since 1984. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, was Past President of the Rotary Club in Lehigh Acres, and coached Little League and Pony League for many years. He has been a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Ocala since 1984 where he was very supportive of the youth activities.
Del met the love of his life, Nancy, and they married on April 21, 1963. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy; son, Ken Boggess and wife Rhonda of Miami; daughter, Suzanne Boggess Gardner and husband, Matt of Ocala; brother, Irl Boggess and wife Diane of Ft. Ogden; six grandchildren: Tyler, Melissa, Drew, Emily, Trevor and Robert, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Del was preceded in death by two sisters: Janice B. Brewer and Jean B. Williams. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Phil Wade officiating.
