Crystal L. Latimer has been promoted to the rank of specialist in the U.S. Army.
Latimer is an ammunition specialist assigned to the 1st Battalion, 94th Field Artillery Regiment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. The new specialist has served in the military for two years.
She is the daughter of Warren W. Blowers of Portland, Maine.
Her husband, Jason Latimer, is the son of Martin and Magdilia Latimer, of Lehigh Acres.
Army Pvt. Brandon N. Monville
Army Pvt. Brandon N. Monville graduated from the Field Artillery Automated Tactical Data Systems Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
As members of the Army’s field artillery team, the course is designed to train soldiers as specialists to operate the advanced field artillery tactical data systems for both cannon and multiple launch rocket systems. The specialists play a critical role in the safe, accurate, and lethal delivery of the field artillery’s various fire support systems used to support infantry and tank units in combat. Skills training included methods of computing target locations using computers or manual calculations, ammunition handling techniques, and operating and performing maintenance on related equipment, vehicles, generators, and artillery tactical and data systems.
Monville is the son of Cara L. Wombles, of Lehigh Acres, and Jeff A. Monville, of Cape Coral.
He is a 2011 graduate of East Lee County High School in Lehigh Acres.
