A 1-year-old was taken to a hospital after falling face first in a pedestrian versus vehicle accident in Lehigh Acres Tuesday night.

Gardy Lubin, 34, was driving east on Lee St. approaching Martin Avenue. Lefort  Lahens, 42, was walking east on Lee street approaching Marvin Avenue while pushing a stroller with a 1-year-old child inside.

Authorities say there were poor lighting conditions, and as a result, the right side mirror on Lubin’s vehicle hit Lahens.

The victim fell in the eastbound lane and hit the pavement with his forehead. The child fell  on the south shoulder, face first.

Lahens was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The child was taken to a hospital by the mother. No word on the baby’s condition.

Charges are pending in the incident.
