A 24-year-old Lehigh Acres man died in a two-vehicle crash that shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near mile marker 131 at Daniels Parkway.
The crash happened at approximately 1:46 p.m. Friday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2012 Nissan Maxima driven by the Lehigh Acres man and a 2023 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 21-year-old North Fort Myers man were traveling along I-75 in the left lane at a high rate of speed.
Troopers said the vehicles then changed lanes into the center travel lane; however, there was slower traffic in the center lane.
The Hyundai went to the outside lane to pass and the driver of the Nissan went to the left to pass.
According to the FHP report, after they passed the slower traffic, both vehicles attempted to move into the center lane.
The front left of the Hyundai hit the front right of the Nissan.
FHP said both vehicles then went across the outside lane to the shoulder, and the Nissan collided with the concrete barrier.
According to the report, both vehicles then veered to the left and crossed over the outside lane.
The Nissan overturned, and the Lehigh Acres man was ejected onto the road before he was hit by the Hyundai.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by Lee County EMS.
According to FHP, the driver of the Hyundai and a passenger in the vehicle, a 23-year-old North Fort Myers man, both suffered minor injuries.
FHP said its Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.
