Did you know that just last week, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested 44 convicted sex offenders with profiles on Match.com, Tinder and other dating apps?
In a joint effort by the FDLE, Tampa Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service, resulted in the arrest of 44 registered sex offenders and predators for having unreported online dating accounts. The operation, which lasted one-year, targeted sexual offender and predator registrants who violated Florida’s registration laws by maintaining unreported online dating profiles on platforms. All confirmed accounts were terminated by Match Group Americas, the owner of multiple dating applications, in accordance with their user agreement policies which prohibit sexual offenders and predators from accessing their applications.
The operation also uncovered individuals convicted of serious crimes, including sexual battery of a child and lewdly fondling or assaulting a child. Those arrested during the operation include:
