Did you Know?

Did you know that President-elect Donald J. Trump has nominated Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister to head the DEA, but Sheriff Chronister supports legalization of marijuana, homosexuality, and had a pastor arrested for opening his church?

Trump made the announcement of Chronister’s nomination on his Truth Social website stating, “As DEA Administrator, Chad will work with our great Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to secure the Border, stop the flow of Fentanyl, and other Illegal Drugs, across the Southern Border, and SAVE LIVES.”

A few issues for Sheriff Chronister may arise when he attends his confirmation hearing. While serving on the Florida Drug Policy Advisory Council, he applauded and celebrated the Hillsborough County commissioners to treat up to 20 grams of marijuana as only a civil offense, rather than a misdemeanor level criminal act.

Also, perhaps an additional concern for many American Christians and those who believe in following the U.S Constitution regarding Chronister’s nomination, he has openly supported “gay pride parades”, and in 2020, during the Covid outbreak, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister secured a warrant and arrested Brandon Pastor, Rodney Howard-Browne who refused to cancel church services and continued to hold his services at his River of Tampa Bay church building. Several months later, the charges against Howard-Browne were dismissed.

President-elect Trump is scheduled to be sworn into office on January 20, 2025. Soon after, the U.S Senate will begin holding hearings for each of Trump’s nominees including, Chronister.
