Did you know that Florida has seen a recent increase in confirmed cases of flesh-eating bacteria following the devastating hurricanes Helene and Milton?

According to our state health department, Florida has seen a recent increase in confirmed cases of flesh-eating Vibiro vulnificus following hurricanes, Helene and Milton.

Anyone can become infected by exposing open wounds, or ingesting contaminated water. As well for high risk of infection are those with compromised immune systems, liver disease, or low resistance to disease.

The Florida Department of Health strongly advises residents to take all necessary precautions to avoid exposure to contaminated water and to seek immediate medical attention if any symptoms of Vibrio vulnificus infection takes hold on any part of your body. Symptoms could also exhibit chills, blistering skin lesions, fever and chills.
