Lee County has declared a local state of emergency ahead of Hurricane Milton’s impacts on Southwest Florida.

A level two state of emergency was activated for Lee County at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
County offices will be closing at 12 p.m. on Monday and may reopen on Thursday.
Residents should anticipate evacuation orders beginning on Monday.
Shelters are set to open on Monday. All shelters are said to be opened on Tuesday. You can find specific locations here.
Helene debris pickup will continue on Monday, and possibly into Tuesday depending on the weather.
Trash is still scheduled to be picked up at its regular time on Monday. There will be no pickup the rest of the week until announced.
