Did you know that there is a potentially fatal mystery illness in dogs that is spreading here in Florida and the rest of the U.S.?
Public health officials as well as veterinarians here in Florida are raising awareness and a warning to all dog owners that a mysterious illness targeting dogs is being reported.
Experts are telling us that this illness starts with a cough, and then can morph into pneumonia. It has the potential to bring death to the dog without treatment and some veterinarians are warning dog owners that at times, the antibiotics that are usually administered to dogs to treat a similar illness, does not help.
The experts are as well telling dog owners that they should ensure that their pets are fully vaccinated, avoid putting your dog with other dogs until he or she is, and also to be aware of any, and all signs of consistent coughing. If your pet dog begins having a consistent cough, immediately bring your pet dog to have them checked out.
