Deputies are seeking information on two armed, masked subjects caught on camera robbing a grocery store.
The two thieves remain at large, Monday. They targeted the Carniceria Y Taqueria Monterrey Grocery Store, located at 1505 Gretchen Avenue S. in Lehigh Acres, that morning.
Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said the men, one of whom was wielding a firearm, entered the store just before 11:30 a.m. and demanded cash.
Brandon Artega ran to the scene after getting a call from his mother that several shots had been fired in the store.
“I was home,” he said. “She was shopping, and she called me scared and said, they’re robbing the store, and I said, what? And … I came out running from my house, come over here and found out that two people came in and shot a couple times and said, put your hands up everybody drop down to the floor, and from what I’m hearing no one got hurt, thank God.”
Crime Stoppers have not confirmed whether shots were fired.
Both men were wearing masks and gloves during the robbery.
