LCSO investigating voicemail threatening State Representative Spencer Roach

Just one day after someone fired a bullet into the home of North Fort Myers Republican State Representative Spencer Roach, his office staff discovered an unnerving phone recording left at his office.

The male caller, using a slow and steady voice, calmly begins the conversation by telling Roach he is giggling and unconcerned about a bullet fired into his home just a day earlier.

“Hey, Spencer, I’m giggling and unconcerned about any weapons being used at your residence. This is the hate that mother f****** like you started…if it envelopes and destroys you, we’re happy. Praying your demise is slow, painful, lonely, impoverishing, and even more fattening. I would rather see you die of type 2 diabetes,” the message eerily ends with the man giggling.

Spencer Roach said his first reaction to hearing the message was that it may be connected with the shot fired into his home a day earlier. He quickly turned it over to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for investigation.

LCSO confirmed that they have a person of interest in the case.

After the recording device picked up the 575 area code number in which the call was placed seemingly from New Mexico.
