Lehigh Acres Football Association (LAFA), the Lehigh Acres Raiders, is a member of the Pop Warner Little Scholar Program within the Peace River Conference. We are a non-profit organization (with an active 501c3) providing football and cheerleading to about 300 youth athletes in our community. Our players are between the ages of 3-15 yrs old. We have on average 6 football teams and 6 cheerleading teams, 4 of which are competitive. Facebook page
Our organization offers a Cheer Ability level for those with all disabilities to be a part of our program! We love watching our athletes evolve and some even continue on as JR coaches with us. LAFA’s goal is to teach our youth the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, with an emphasis on education, community, safety, and sportsmanship all while having fun.
We could not provide a quality program without the help of our community. The cost of equipping the players and cheerleaders has grown substantially in the last few years. The cost of league insurance, equipment and maintenance, and conference fees continues to grow. We make an effort to keep our registration fees as low as possible but do not nearly cover the costs. Unfortunately, being a town outside of city limits we do not qualify for many of the Lee County benefits that our Ft. Myers neighbors receive. Fundraising has been our only means of extra income. Donations to our youth program will invest in the children of our community and will help teach them the values we strive so hard to instill.
The $ 16 million dollar Lee County Parks and Rec build will be amazing for our community and youth sports here in Lehigh Acres. However, it does come with monetary expectations from our small nonprofit. The current concession stand is owned by our Little League, so we must outfit the new concession stand. We are currently accepting donations of refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, ice machines, and drink coolers. Anything helps!
This year we celebrate our 39th year here in Lehigh Acres. Our board is brand new and ready to create an environment our youth deserve. We have created sponsorship tiers for those interested in monetary and equipment donations. Let’s make Lehigh Acres great and offer what the neighboring towns offer their athletes! #WEARELEHIGH
