Did you that a 24-year-old woman in Hillsborough County was recently caught on a hidden security camera beating a husky dog with a rubber mallet? Elizabeth Jaimes last Monday was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals with a weapon according to Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister after viewing the video of Jaimes beating 9-year-old Siberian Husky named, “Maya” which suffered multiple bone fractures and blind in one eye. Jaimes, who is not the owner of the dog found herself also part of an online petition started by Sheriff Chronister demanding that she is never allowed to own or live with a pet. Chronister informed reporters that he believes that Maya began receiving abuse from Jaimes beginning last October, 2022.
“We as a community and as a society will never tolerate the abuse and terrorization of a poor innocent animal,” Sheriff Chronister said. “Elizabeth Jaimes will feel the full weight pf the criminal justice system in Hillsborough County.”
Elizabeth Jaimes was later released on a $7,500 bond.
