Two elderly victims were shot in Lehigh Acres Sunday morning.
SWFL Crime Stoppers reports at approximately 4:00 a.m., the victims were trailering a boat with a truck when they were stopped at the intersection of Milwaukee Boulevard and Homestead Road.
A large group of people surrounded the victims and did not allow them to cross.
Without provocation, an unknown person shot once through the driver’s side window, shooting both victims, according to SWFL Crime Stoppers.
Both victims were taken to Gulf Coast Hospital and suffered critical injuries.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is working with SWFL Crime Stoppers. Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
