Did you know that a woman recently killed her terminally ill husband?
Police in Daytona Beach last Saturday morning stated that a woman shot her terminally ill husband at an AdventHealth hospital.
Ellen Gilland, 76 and her husband, Jerry Gilland, 77 made a pact that if his health issues became worse, she would end his suffering and kill him, and then in-turn, kill herself as well. After shooting her husband, she apparently backed out of her commitment to kill herself.
According to Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari E. Young who held a news conference regarding the shooting, “Because he (Jerry Gilland) was terminally ill, they had a conversation about it and they actually planned this approximately three weeks ago, that if he continued to take a turn for the worse, that he wanted her to end this.”
When officers arrived at the hospital, they immediately evacuated staff and patients around the room.
At the time of this article being written, Daytona Beach Police continue to investigate the incident.
