A county commissioner assistant was arrested for driving under the influence.
According to the Lee County website, Christine Deramo is Pendergrass’s executive assistant.
Deputies say that Deramo mentioned that she worked for County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass in what seemed to be an attempt to evade DUI charges.
Appeared as though Christine was attempting to sway and or influence job performance,” the report read.
The arrest report says she was stopped for swerving and speeding on a busy road. After refusing to do a breathalyzer and a sobriety test, Deramo told deputies she had a few drinks earlier in the night.
Deramo was arrested on January 7th and charged with a DUI.
We are waiting on a statement from Pendergrass.
