The National Hurricane Center has issued hurricane and storm surge watches for most of Florida’s East Coast.

Subtropical Storm Nicole is slowing down as it moves northwest at 9 mph, according to the latest advisory. The storm is now expected to become a hurricane by Wednesday evening before making landfall somewhere along Florida’s East Coast.
Current estimates put Nicole’s winds at 75 mph within 60 hours, making it a Category 1 hurricane.
Nicole formed northeast of the Bahamas early Monday morning and could reach Florida’s east coast later this week as a strong tropical storm or even a hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center.
