A 12-year-old female student was arrested after she took out a weapon and threatened another student during lunch at Lehigh Acres Middle School.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says the incident was isolated and there are no threats to any other students or faculty. They are currently investigating the incident.
In a message from Principal Dr. Brian Gibson, he informed families that a weapon was displayed and that school administrators immediately intervened.

This afternoon, detectives with our Youth Services Division arrested a 12-year-old female student at Lehigh Acres Middle School. The student brandished a weapon in the cafeteria threatening another student.
