Did you know that a convicted sex offender recently offered $100,000 to buy a child?
According to Port Orange law enforcement, Hellmuth Kolb was arrested at his home on August 16th, after they were notified, “due to the parent’s clear concern that someone was insistent on attempting to purchase their daughter in a grocery store.”
Kolb, 85, approached the child’s mother at a Winn Dixie in Port Orange where she thought that when Kolb first approached her, he thought that Kolb was just a lonely old man.
“He just came up and he started making comments about how pretty she (the child) was and how good her dancing was and how he could never have children and he wanted children.”
After the complaint was made by the mother to police, Kolb was arrested and booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Kolb is registered as a sexual offender. In 2019, Kolb pleaded no contest to a false imprisonment charge, according to Florida’s online sex offender registry.
