Man attacked with weed eater following a payment dispute

A Lehigh Acres man is recovering after a confrontation with his lawn worker led to him being attacked by a weed eater.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office report, the victim has been using another man to cut his law for about two months. However, last week the man arrived and mowed the lawn without notifying the homeowner he would be doing so.

On Wednesday, the man returned to the home and began banging on the door, demanding payment for the work he had done. The victim told him he didn’t have the money at the time, but he would have it the following day after getting paid from his job. The worker would remain adamant he gets paid that day and retreated towards his black pickup truck.

The victim would leave his home with partial payment and walk to a neighbor’s home when he noticed the worker approaching him with a gas-powered weed trimmer and continuing to demand payment. The man began chasing the victim around the neighbor’s car and yard swinging the weed eater. At one point, he would shove the weed eater in the victim’s face causing injuries. The victim would sustain non-life-threatening wounds to his face that were determined to be superficial.

The worker would flee the scene before deputies could arrive.
