Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District per Heck’s statement “does not have an agreement with Hendry County to provide first-dispatched fire and/or rescue services (this includes Wheeler Road Estates.)”
But is NOT totally correct, Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District has an interlocal agreement with Hendry County to provide AUTOMATIC AID to East Lehigh/Wheeler Rd.
In the agreement it reads:
LaBelle dispatchers are automatically calling Lee Control and requesting mutual aid from the Lehigh Acres Fire Department for ALL fire and medical type calls in the area known as East Lehigh / Wheeler Road

The agreement also states, “Whereas, the use of mutual aid may result in a reduction of incurred fire losses and fire insurance rates and an increased medical / rescue response support network, for the citizens of Hendry County,”
