Did you know that a Florida deputy ran over a beachgoer lying on the sand?

A Florida deputy drove his patrol vehicle over a woman who was lying on the sand at a Pinellas County beach last Wednesday.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Todd Brien was speaking to several pedestrians on the St. Pete Beach when he was dispatched to a call at another location. When he made a right turn from his parked position, his vehicle struck Robin Diffenderfer, 23, while she was lying on her back.

The young woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputy Brien, who has been employed with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s since 2013, was reportedly not injured.
