A Lehigh Acres man was arrested Thursday in connection to a 2020 home invasion in Golden Gate Estates.
Andres Tremols-Tapanes, 34, of Lehigh Acres is facing charges after detectives said DNA evidence linked him to the crime over a year later.

On November 21, 2020, Tremols-Tapanes and an accomplice broke into a home on 11th Avenue SW wearing masks and dark clothing, deputies said.
The men allegedly pointed a gun at two people inside the home, beat them, and bound them before taking off with cash from a safe in the home and driving off in the victim’s car.
Investigators found a black glove at the scene and were able to pull DNA from it that linked Tremols-Tapanes to the crime, according to CCSO.
US Marshals picked up the 34-year-old in Lee County and took him to the Lee County Jail where he will eventually be transferred to the Collier County Jail.
Detectives are still working to identify the second suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-253-9300 or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
