Caloosahatchee Forestry Center will be conducting two prescribed burns Thursday, March 22:
- Lee County: State Road 31, north of Palm Beach Boulevard – 80 acres
- Hendry County: Sic Island Road, Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest – 100 acres
Prescribed burns reduce the density of vegetation and the risks associated with catastrophic wildfire. Regular prescribed burns help ensure safety, promote healthy forests and enhance wildlife habitat.
