Did you know that the state of Florida recently recovered $5 million from a domestic violence agency?

The state of Florida had recovered $5 million of $7.5 million that was paid to the former CEO of an organization calling itself, the “Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence.”
During a recent Thursday morning news conference, State Attorney General Ashley Moody and Governor Ron DeSantis gave reporters the information regarding the monies returned.
Tiffany Carr, who resigned in November 2019 from the domestic violence agency, will pay $2.1 million in cash according to a settlement agreement with the state. The insurance companies representing the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence officers, will pay more than $1.7 million to the Department of Children and families and a court receiver.
In a statement, Carr’s attorney, Chris Kise, defended Carr’s behavior, noting that the settlement does not admit and liability and she agrees to repay the money “to eliminate the uncertainty, burden, and expense of further protracted litigation.”
During the news conference held by DeSantis, he admitted that Carr’s abuse of power as well as money grabbing went on unchecked for twenty-years. DeSantis however made no mention of the many years of on-going corruption within the state BAR Association and judges who steal federal VAWA tax funded monies, and also who profit in the Billions of dollars due to false allegations of domestic violence.
