A woman was convicted on three counts of reckless driving for a 2018 crash that killed a Lehigh Acres family of three. Kohut was originally facing three vehicular homicide charges but was convicted on lesser charges.
Olivia Kohut was found guilty by a jury Thursday, according to court records. She was previously arrested in 2019 for the crash that happened on October 18, 2018.
Chester and Dawn Baker as well as their 4-year-old son Jamison all died in the crash. Florida Highway Patrol troopers, who arrested Kohut, said she was speeding in a pickup truck and slammed into the side of the Baker’s car at East 14th Street and North Avenue in Lehigh Acres.
Kohut was not hurt in the crash, but her 11-year-old daughter suffered minor injuries at the time.
