Fire crews are battling a large brush fire in the Everglades, according to the Florida Forestry Service [FFS].
The fire is raging south of Miami, right outside Everglades National Park near Card Sound Road.
As of 1:15 p.m., the fire spread 11,500 acres and was 55% contained, FFS reported.

The fire, officially named the 416 Fire, has been burning since April 30. When FFS first notified the public of the fire via Twitter, the brush fire was 750 acres and was mainly burning south of the Homestead Speedway.
