A motorcyclist died after a crash when a motorist was backing out of his driveway in Lehigh Acres on Saturday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol reported.
According to troopers, a 31-year-old Lehigh Acres man was heading east on 8th Street Southwest near Ruth Avenue South about noon when a 55-year-old Lehigh Acres man backed his SUV out of his driveway and into the path of the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene. Troopers cited the older driver with a mandatory court appearance for improper backing.
