Was the death of the 15 old hindered by the slow response time of the Lehigh Acres Fire Department?

On Dec 11, 2020 it took 27 minutes for an ambulance to respond.

Two 15-year-old boys were hit by a black Tesla near the intersection of Elaine Avenue N and 42nd Street W at 10:18pm, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Both teens were rushed to the hospital. One teen was unconscious and later died at Lee Memorial Hospital.

Why wasn’t a Lee Flight call in, it took 45 mins to get them to the hospital by ambulance.

The taxpayers voted for improvement in the Fire Department in Aug 18, 2020.

According to Eric Engelhart, who lives on North Sunshine Blvd has Zero Tolerance of this public safety issue.

But yesterday 1/14/2021 the department finally breaks ground on station 6 on Sunshine. But the station will not be ready for 8 to 12 months.

Ground breaking Station 6

The fire department has had a mobile home for a temp station for that location but has refused to talk about until 1/13/2021 by email. According to Fire Chief Robert Diallo, “We will be placing a temporary trailer on the site and expect it to be operational in March while the main station is completed.”

They could have placed the temporary trailer on the site over 18 months ago but refused and now we have a fifteen-year-old DEAD.

Engelhart said that the Fire Chief should be held accountable for the slow pace of the improvements and the total lack of public safety when it came to the fifteen-year-old death.
