Bill copied the contents of the article from a Press Release from Florida Alliance for Simplified Funding Strategies handed to her by the Fire Dept.
Florida Alliance for Simplified Funding Strategies is union control and has manipulated the poll they did between July 9-13, 2020.
Their poll out of 304 likely voters, 62% would vote “yes”, but Lehigh Acres has over 52,000 registered voters.
Also, Florida Alliance for Simplified Funding Strategies illegal hid their name and called themselves the “National Independent Research Company” – Calling from Tallahassee Fl.
You could not legally say that nearly 2/3 are supportive of Lehigh Acres fire assessment because of the sample sizes of 304 likely voters.
Talking to Randy Allen-Scott, who’s running in House Seat 79, said,
First of all, this is no simplified tax solution. It is a shell game. Of all the eastern Lee County Fire district Lehigh Acres is the only one that has this methodology.
It is not simple and combined with the 150k the district is spending with the union for TV commercials, radio commercials, and mailers it shows the greed.
The district never reports this methodology allows them to raise taxes every year! Further the shell game includes the ability to move around exemptions at anytime and anywhere they please. Board members have even exempted themselves from this tax.
65 thousand vacant land in Lehigh Acres is valued at $5200.00 or less. Realtors are sitting with bated breath to pick these up at tax sales for under $500.00 when owners decide the payment is not worth it.
So who is funding the PAC? Realtors, unions, contractors all looking to convert our taxes to their own pocket!
I predict in 3 years any savings today will be gone by a simple vote of the board!
This referendum is really a transfer of our vote authority to the board without correction.
A new poll has been done…..
A larger poll sample of super voters in Lehigh Acres … “voters that have voted in the last five elections”. Done by Get The Facts Lehigh PAC shows this:
Out of the 1056 reached 74.13% said NO on the new Simplified Fire funding methodology.
81% of the contacted voters thought that this was already decided last June 2019
72% have issues with Fire Board continually going back to the voters for more money.
