The Lehigh Acres Gazette has learned that five employees from the Lehigh Acres Walmart are on personnel or on medical due to COVID 19. These five employees worked throughout the store.
UPDATE: We have the names of five employees but due to HIPPA law, we can not release them.

Lehigh Acres Gazette contacted Walmart Corporate for comment. They will not confirm or deny the possible employees’ infections. And told to us to contact the local health department for any information. Walmart’s Response to COVID-19 – Walmart Corporate.

Currently Walmart is facing a Wrongful Death Lawsuit from Coronavirus. The family of a 51-year-old Walmart associate who succumbed to the coronavirus has filed a wrongful death lawsuit over what is alleged to be unsafe working conditions.
The individual, Wando Evans, worked in an Illinois-based Walmart for 15 years, and died on March 25 as a result of COVID-19. Four days later, another co-worker at the Evergreen Park store died from complications of the virus. Evans’ estate alleges that the blame for his death lies with Walmart, in a wrongful death lawsuit filed Monday.
As of 3 pm 4/8/2020 Lehigh Acres has 70 cases COVID 19. Lee County 462 cases with 14 deaths.
That specific Walmart in Lehigh doesn’t surprise me.they don’t take car of their ppl right at all.
Of course their employees specially the cashiers have mo gloves no face mask face to face contact w customers i had ask one of their cashiers two weeks ago if walmart was providing them w all this type of protection and she told me no …incredible
This is what happens when employees are scared to lose their jobs or scared they can’t pay their bills because employers aren’t willing to help sick employees. They should have shut down and stayed closed after the FIRST employee was discovered to have the virus. Doesn’t surprise me though. I’ve had numerous encounters with the management there and if they treat their employees like they treat their customers then I’m sure they didn’t care the employee was sick.
There was ONE, not 5, this is FAKE NEWS !! The 1 that has it has not been there for 3 weeks is what was told !!
Tee you are 100% wrong
Yes there was ONE three weeks ago, they closed for 24 hours to “disinfect” then reopened the following morning. The only way to disinfect that place to to demolish it and restart. That Walmart is filthy. Always has been.
No there is five employees. We have the names of the employees. We talked to three of them.
Thank you for being on top of these kind of news. I appreciate the fact that you have made us aware of it all. I am cautious about going shopping nowdays but knowing this makes me even more cautious. Thanks
Do you know when they last worked?
The Fire Department will not release that information
I’m not arguing that there are five cases now, I’m just stating there was one case reported three or four weeks ago and all the store did was close for 24hrs to “disinfect” the store.
