Andy Gonzalez was driving a Honda CRV on Lee Boulevard around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday morning according to FHP when he lost control of the car and crashed into two different trees.

The passenger Roxana Castro was ejected from the car while still in her seat. Castro died at the scene.
Castro was also a passenger in Gonzalez’s car in April 2017 during a crash that killed 82-year-old Ernest Wayne Peterson at the intersection of Leland Heights Blvd and Maple Ave., according to FHP reports.
Gonzalez was initially charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving with damage in the 2017 crash but was found not guilty. But Gonzalez was convicted of running a stop sign in that accident.
Currently, Gonzalez is in critical condition in the hospital.
