One dead after car splits in half in crash on Lee Blvd

One person is dead after a crash at Lee Boulevard and Colin Avenue N.

According to FHP, one car was involved and hit multiple trees. The passenger, 23-year-old Roxana Castro, died and the driver, 23-year-old Andy Gonzalez, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. 

Gonzalez was driving east on Lee Boulevard around 12:45 a.m. when his Honda CRV went off the road and hit a tree, FHP said. 

Gonzalez was ejected from the Honda CRV.

The car was “split into parts upon collision,” according to the FHP report. 

The scene has been cleared at this time.
