Vicki Collins Public Information Officer Lee County Elections Office stated to the Lehigh Acres Gazette today by phone that the Lee County Election Office is not going to do anything Lee County Sheriff Candidate that has NO disclosures on his campaign website.
Collins stated that this is an ETHICS issue not an election issue.
BUT Florida Elections statues state that proper disclosure must be done.
FS 106.143
“Political advertisement paid for and approved by (name of candidate) , (party affiliation) , for (office sought) ”;
FS 106.1439
Any electioneering communication, other than a telephone call, shall prominently state: “Paid electioneering communication paid for by (Name and address of person paying for the communication).
Does the election office understand the law, they do have the ability to fine Coach Ray today!
