LCSO makes three (3) Fentanyl Arrests in Separate Incidents

During the evening hours of Thursday, October 17, 2019, our Intelligence, Gang, and Field Support Unit Detectives conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Tamiami Trail and North Airport Road, in Fort Myers. K9 Deputies arrived on scene and conducted a free air sniff, which resulted in the K9 alerting to the odor of narcotics.  Upon searching the vehicle, detectives found 4.9 grams of Fentanyl and 2.2 grams of Cocaine.  Makeith Crews (DOB 10/1/71) was subsequently arrested and charged with Trafficking Fentanyl and Possession of Cocaine.  Crews, a convicted felon and documented gang member, has been arrested 30 times in Lee County.  Crews’ widespread criminal history includes narcotics sales, Possession of a Weapon by Convicted Felon, Aggravated Assault with a Weapon, Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Robbery with a Firearm, and Grand Theft Auto.

Meanwhile, across the county, East District Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Homestead Road and Plaza Drive on a vehicle being driven by Keith Meaney (DOB 3/12/80).  When deputies approached the vehicle, a firearm and baggies of suspected narcotics were in plain view.  Both Meaney and his passenger, Nicole Musker (DOB 1/19/81) were detained.   

In the vehicle, deputies discovered 16.81 grams of Fentanyl, 40.9 grams of Heroin, and two (2) firearms.  One of the firearms was previously reported stolen.  Detectives with the Narcotics Unit responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.  Meaney, who is a convicted felon, was arrested and charged with Trafficking Fentanyl, Trafficking Heroin, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Owning a Vehicle for the Purpose of Trafficking a Controlled Substance.  Meaney has been arrested more than 20 times in Lee County and has an extensive criminal history to include charges of possessing narcotics, Hit and Run, Robbery, Driving with a Suspended License, Reckless Driving and DUI.  Meaney was recently released from prison in February 2019 after serving 8 years for trafficking illegal drugs.

The passenger, Nicole Musker, was found to be in possession of Fentanyl, Heroin, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Oxycodone.  She was arrested and charged accordingly.  Musker is also a convicted felon and has been arrested 14 times in Lee County and has been charged with numerous narcotics related charges.

“Let me be crystal clear,” stated Sheriff Carmine Marceno.  “My team is everywhere, and we’re coming after those who push poison on the streets of Lee County.  Citizens will be safe and drug dealers will go to jail.”
