The Lehigh Acres Fire received a 5% pay raise as of Oct 1, 2019. But now Fire Commissioners Bennett has on the agenda item for the Special meeting on Oct 9, 2019: To discuss the process and intention to open Article 7 – Wages of The Southwest Florida Professional Firefighters Local 1826 District 6 Collective Bargaining Agreement and give the firefighters an extra 3% raise.
They raised your taxes 5.79% as of Oct 1, the fire district has loans of 10 million dollars, gave the staff a 5% raise and the dept does not have the money to build station 6 or rebuild station 2. But a commissioner what’s to give the staff an additional 3% why??????
