Tony Tyrone Youngblood, Sr., 24, is now facing charges of robbery with a firearm, fleeing and eluding, and neglect of a child. The final charge came when the alleged robber’s child was found unsecured in the back seat of his vehicle after a brief chase.
Shortly before 1 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery at the Star Food Mart at 1464 Lee Boulevard.
A masked gunman reportedly entered the store, demanded and received money and fled in a white Nissan Sentra.
A witness to the robbery contacted the Sheriff’s Office and provided the tag number for the suspect vehicle.
Even though the car was a rental vehicle deputies were able to track the Nissan, which took off as they approached.
Deputies pursued the car through a rural area and were able to quickly stop the vehicle.
