With a little than five weeks to go to the Nov. 8 election, Richard Farsi, who was running for Seat 1 on the Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District has withdrawn himself from the race.
Lee Elections notify the voters of Lehigh Acres by postcard, costing the taxpayers nearly $15,000.
Richard Farsi, who was challenging incumbent Michael Welch and Dewey Tyler, Farsi said he has withdrawn due to his wife’s serious illness.
But as of 5 pm today 10/5/2016 his wife, Erica Farsi is still on the ballot for Lehigh Acres Fire Board Seat #1.
According to Farsi his wife’s condition is very serious and has been in contract with election officials to remove her off the ballot also next week.
The election is Nov. 8, although absentee ballots will be mailed out Oct 7.
