1:20 pm update the Facebook page for Slide the City states the event is now scheduled for Oct 30, 2016 10-7 pm on the Edison bridge

Slide the City hopes to move their giant waterslide event back to the Edison Bridge, but state officials said they still do not have the proper permits.
On Monday, Lee County denied Slide the City the permit to hold the event at Veterans Community Park in Lehigh Acres. That very night, event organizers switched gears back to Edison Bridge.
Edison Bridge is state property, and these permits are not issued to “for-profit” companies.
To get approval, Slide the City must have Fort Myers and Lee County sign off.
They must also apply with the following:
· An MOT plan that shows temporary detours to be utilized by the public;
· Traffic analysis;
· Load rating information completed by hired structural engineer;
· Water discharge plan for flow into city storm water;
· Insurance plan to cover minimum of $5 million in total coverage;
· Emergency services plan; and
· Plan events to take place in daylight hours.
“We need to make sure that what you’re putting on the bridge isn’t going to harm it,” said Zach Burch, FDOT.
Meantime, customers still have nothing to show for their money.
We contacted Slide the City and their parent company Sack Lunch Productions. They said they have listed a refund link for dissatisfied customers and that once you get a reply, you can expect a refund in five days. As of today the Lehigh Acres Gazette cannot find the refund link on their website.
