99.99% of all residential lots in Lehigh Acres have a deed of restrictions on them, Thanks to the original developer: Lehigh Corp.
It states in all the know recorded deeds of restrictions: No animals, livestock or poultry of any kind shall be raised, bred or kept on any property except that dogs, cats or other household pets may be kept, provided that they are not kept or maintained for any commercial purpose.
What going to happen next? Today at the Lee County Commission meeting, Commissioner Frank Mann could not even draw a second on a motion to allow the citizens to talk about the chicken issue.
County Attorney Richard Wesch would not comment of private property rights but did state that deed restrictions supercede county ordinances.
