Presbyterian Homes Is Now Exempt from the Fire Fee Assessment

Presbyterian Homes filled to Lehigh Acres Fire Board meeting at the Microtel Inn & Suites with nearly 75 people. Approximately three hours later after 45 people spoke to the board about the fire assessment the board voted 5-0 to exempt five properties under the NAL code 13 homes for the aged, SWFLGW on Beth Stacey, SWFLGW on Gerald Ave and the three properties under the Presbyterian Homes nonprofit corporation. The fire board loses almost $152,900 in income from those properties.

Some new items that haven’t been so transparent in the budget finally showed there ugly eyes tonight:

$63,000 for new staffing software

New Ice Machine for 4 stations – They just junked three ice machine three months ago.

New Battalion chief’s truck $60,000

6 new radio’s at $30,000

A new Public Information Officer position

And three loaner Military 4×4 trucks – Which do not belong to the district — will get a $40,000 makeover each into brush trucks.

at 8:30 pm they recessed the meeting and will continue the meeting on Friday Sept 2 at 4:30 pm at station 104.

  1. They will not loose any money. They will just not collect more. How can they possibly be expected to live within their means when they can just levy additional taxes? Freakin’ joke.
