This is commissioner Carter, at this time after reviewing all of the resumes information about the four selected candidates and their backgrounds, and at this time I do not feel that any of the four meet the needs of our department. Our department at this time needs to have a chief that is supported by all.
Even though they may have experience in their fields that this department could use at this time I feel that as commissioner that we must look for a another or other possible candidates for Fire Chief. Our department has gone through so much in the last few years that the new chief must have the support of the department the commissioners and the community at large. Some of the those individuals on the list not selected would make good candidates provided that they had more experience to support their resumes for a department or size.
At this time I cannot support any of the candidates for chief.
