Lewis Joy’s 2006 Suzuki GSX-R was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed well beyond that of the posted speed limits in the inside lane on Joel Boulevard when he impacted, Walter Curll’s 2012 Red Galant was making a left turn onto Joel Boulevard from Joel Way.
The front of Joy’s Suzuki bike struck the rear driver’s side of the Galant. Suzuki GSX-R was redirected in a southeast direction. Joy was thrown from Suzuki GSX-R at impact, and succumbed to his fatal injuries on scene.
The Galant rotated counterclockwise and came to final rest facing southeast in the westbound lanes of Joel Boulevard in the intersection of Joel Way.
No Charges are pending from the FHP accident report. Both Joy and Curll are from Lehigh Acres. Walter Crull and his passenger Dolores Curll were transported to Lehigh Regional Medical Center for serious injuries. No update on their conditions as of this update.

The rates of speed on Joel Blvd. and Lee Blvd. are out of control. Sixty MPH and higher speeds are common on those roads, everyday. Fatal accidents are also way too frequent and unless something is done to slow drivers down,the problems will continue to grow.
More traffic lights and/or more police activity could help. However, a plan should be devised to quell this problem, before more fatal accidents happen.
I would like to hear more from other citizens concerned with these issues, maybe then official would be more proactive in solving the problems.
I believe that the community has to be more educated with their behavior, first, most of the accidents happening while using their cell phones. Motorcycles accidents happen because they drive at higher speed without precaution.
Driver do not put attention to the incoming vehicles .
Driver with right of way don’t pay attention to the intersections where others vehicles wants to enter to the main road : using cell phones, texting, doing others things but paying attention to others.
Accidents in Lehigh are very weirds, sometimes there is no reason for them, but people.
